I've seen lots of folks lately unaware about the numerous guides provided on the MM8BDM Wiki, so I wanted to use this thread to highlight some guides particularly useful for newer players. If you see someone struggling with something, point them here!

Have you ever looked at CBM Gutsman, Gondola Pharoahman or really anyone that has a punch attack and said

" Man, I wish my class could be that cool ); "

Well now, with the power

, any class can use their fist to teach enemies a lesson!
With a single press of the "Zoom Key", you can use a familiar looking hand to throw a 55 damage melee attack! The only restrictions are

-> You can't already be punching
-> You have to be able to take damage (unless your name is

Other then that, you can use this attack anytime you want! Furthermore unlike most punches, THIS punch can block projectiles, and can even

them away! Use this to protect yourself, or maybe use it to fling your own projectiles! The possibilities are endless with Punch-4-All.

HyperFighting is an attempt to speed up the overall gameplay as well as give more emphasis on survival in 8bdm.

Major changes include:

  • Weapon Overhauls: Tweaks and adjustments to every weapon to increase their effective range or provide more utility. Some weapons even received complete overhauls.
  • You Got: Start with the Mega Buster (MM4) and the Energy Balancer! The EB has been replaced with the new Energy Saver!
  • Armor Pickups: Increase your chance of survival by scouring the map for armor!
  • Revamped Shields: Shields are now hot-swappable and provide passive buffs when active, adding a new layer of strategy!
  • Slide Slide: Evade enemy attacks with a slide!
  • Classic Maps return for some reason: Relive the ....interesting old days of classic 8bdm maps?
  • Customizable Pickups: Health/Armor pickups reflect their game counterparts! (This option can be configured to your desire)
  • Customizable Item 1: Tailor Item 1 behavior to appear in front of you, under you, or based on your movement, adding flexibility to your tactics!
  • Enhanced Mobility: Experience significantly increased player mobility, opening up new routes and strategies on every map!

Hi, mod maker here. So listen up, assuming you already know how to host either by yourself or with a hosting service, what you need to do is set up a remote console password. Set "sv_rconpassword <your password of choice>" as an additional parameter before booting up the server.

Afterwards once you're in-game, try accessing the mod's menu (it should replace the singleplayer button, but in case you're also adding in another add-on that overwrites the main menu you'll need to type 'openmenu CampaignCoopMenu' in the console) and a self-explanatory menu should prompt you to type in the password from before. Enter the mod-specific options and there should be a button to set the default flags. That sets up about everything on its own.

There is something extremely important to note, bots play a mejor part in the campaign and last I checked TSPG (the most reliable and commonly used hosting service) stopped allowing them one day. You'll find yourself in empty maps if you use it and sadly, unless you know how to portforward or are in the same LAN network for a local server, use Hamachi/Radmin/whatever, or you and your fellas live in Europe and can alternatively use Euroboros instead, just know it won't be the same. Sup. I know double posting is an act worthy of getting hanged on a cross in forums but I am here to make a quick correction that I'm not sure you would get notified of otherwise if I simply used the edit button: The Sentinel's Playground does allow bots again. Have fun with your easy hosting.

Weekly mod news 7/7/2024 "Many platformer additions and small adjustments"

Bloons mod: "Fixing up missing skins & new exit texts"
1. updated & added more exit messages to add a few more unique ones.
2. New sniper monkey skins added:
Night Vision Goggles
Shrapnel Shot
Bouncing Bullet
Supply Drop
Elite Sniper

3. Updated sniper to display middle-path & bottom-path weapon skins

Platformer mod: "Fixing issues seen within the test & new things!"
1. Nerfed telly spawners by 1 second in Sky area stage (hard level) and restricted where they can go.
2. Made new animations for Mole enemy (drill in & drill out)
3. Mole enemy adjustments, moles have a full second of drilling before they can start harming players, added so players have a heads up of where the moles are going to appear before getting hit. Upward moles are not affected by conveyor belts on spawn. A small bug that made moles commit a slide before they finish drilling.
4. Made new enemy: octopus battery (Adhering Suzy for those who like the Japanese name) bounces between two points, either moving up & down or left & right depending on what their setting is.
5. Messed around with trying to make movement controls more smooth, still trying to get it smoother
6. Did experimental testing oriented around giving enemies barriers, fully functional!
7. Made new enemy: Shield attacker, moves between two points turning around when it gets to it's destination (either a wall or colliding with a player) blocking shots from the front. addition, you can jump off the top of a shield attacker, but it is funny to do.
8. updated & added more exit messages to add a few more unique ones.
9. new automatic player turners, getting tired of walking to a corner and then pressing up to keep going? Worry no more! As this new object turns players that are in range of it, and it comes in 4 different rotations: North, East, South, West. Diagonals are not included.

Plans for next week? More work on platformer mod.
On discord I have to compress my wording thanks to the word limit there but it doesn't exist here. I'm working hard on what needs to be added & adjusted to the mod for a more fun and playable online experience before I do a public test with a few levels. I don't have an estimate of when that'll be done but I think I'll have it done before December. I'll start posting weekly images of what I've worked on in the week as a fun thing to see. I would like to hear what ideas you guys may have!

So that stage select says that Metal man & Tengu man are on there but no burst man? I'll be changing the stage select to have the actual robot masters I'll use in this mod and have the others on another stage select somewhere else. I still need to polish up the hub world as it looks very ugly & basic at the moment.
there is this mod called campaign coop(campaigncoop-build0y_v6btest) and i don't know how to make it work on a server, how to make the campaign functionality work on a server?
