Weekly mod news 13/10/2024 "Boomerang final additions & flipped gravity!"

Bloons mod: "Extra additions to the Boomerang"
1. Sonic boom implemented to a few other upgrades that didn't have it before.
2. turbo charge & perma charge ability rangs now are a bright green & magenta color respectively.
3. Dart monkey code optimized and easily moddable like the others (mortar & super monkeys have yet to get this but they'll get it soon)

Platformer mod: "Flipping gravity"
1. Flipped gravity gimmick made! It reacts a little slower but it does a good job for a proper first version! Although it only really works with megaman at the moment and he needs a few more sets of reverse gravity sprites implemented and a few small issues to fix. (Air jumps & Wall jumps don't work with this yet)

Plans for next week? I plan to work on the mortar monkey this week, he won't be done in a single week as there is quite a bit for me to rework.

No drama. It's a rather boring story, to be honest: the old forums weren't switched to a new version of PHP and were crashing every couple of months. Activity had slowed to a crawl, and we had to ban people from making new profiles because bots were dying to get in and fill the place with advertisements and random shit.

Basically, the place just fell into disrepair, and we still wanted a website to handle project releases and to serve as a hub for new players. So here we are.

We're basically just saying "don't call people slurs" and "don't start brigading someone because they used a slur that can only be seen on an archive of a video game forum that's nearly 15 years old". Please relax.

quick update
i'm gonna start creating weaknesses for all bots in this mod
it's for the next upcoming version of this mod so stay tuned
however i'm not gonna create weaknesses for mmd and mmrf skirmish bots
right now at this time so as i said stay tuned for the next version
the reason is i don't know any of mmd & mmrf bots weaknesses
so i'll do more research when i have the time
but if you do know their weaknesses post here

If I saw someone harassing and DOX people, then it's one thing. I've been here on Cutstuff back in the day, and I never in my life saw someone call insults based on race or at all; in fact, it was against the rules. So I don't know what you're talking about unless I miss some small drama, which I didn't bother at the time. Since I didn't play the game for years.

Saying "changing social norms," however, is a giant red flag because it's an internet buzzword on mentally ill sites like Twitter, Reddit, and 4channel. Don't give me wrong, I get this site wants to not go the same route as one of these sites, but this wording is just as abused as here by users from there.
It's one of those buzzwords I heard when someone was rightfully called for being a horrible person, and then the one who pointed it out was banned for "transphobia/homophobia/racism." You get the idea. And then they were trying to indoctrinate me about "social norms" and other off-topic garbage that had nothing to do with.
The one admin/mod who banned him were buddies with this horrible excuse of a human being.

And then I also remember in some other forums where the original poster got banned for talking about a video game. And it isn't even edgy like Hatred or Jesus Strikes Back II: The Judgement Day. And it has to do with this unhinged gender political circus that was happening at the time when this game was released over a founder saying mean things on Twitter. And the developers had nothing to do with anything; hell, there were some who donated to a transvestite charity. The moderator in that other forum was one of those insanos and banned OP, one who deserved it and the other who had to deserve, because the last one broke the rules yet it didn't; it aligned the same agenda as the moderator. Then the moderator in question made this whole monologue: THEYRE OUR FRIENDS DON'T PLAY THIS GAME DONATE TO A CHARITY INSTEAD. On a Sonic Forum, mind you, which is at the same time unsurprising considering the fandom's reputation. Plus, the moderator broke the rules, which state that no politics of any kind is allowed. Again, over a harmless video game.

If this kind of idea and influence happens to this site, then I'm sorry to say that I'm not interested in browsing here moving forward. If moderators/admins here are trying to ban me, then fine by me since it also proves my suspicion about things that are called "political bias" on a video game forum.

What was acceptable to say in the internet back then is frowned upon nowadays. This probably refers to the use of slurs, sexual jokes aimed at individuals, and more stuff you can think of.

Point being: Be warned, that's stuff you're likely to find. Do know 90% of users nowadays wouldn't speak the same way due to maturing and changing social norms.
