The mod is not yet compatible with story mode. The full v1 release will be story mode compatible, though.

V-Classes

Ultimates! Assists! Terminators! It's V-Classes, baby!
V-Classes is a class mod which brings the cast of Mega Man into the Hero Shooter format. With extensive kits for each of the over 100 characters based on various sources, from a character's original home game to the deepest of deep cuts, everything in V-Classes is a direct reference to the Mega Man franchise. Featuring more obscure characters, and various alternate costumes/skins from various Mega Man media, V-Classes is the ultimate 8BDM experience for the diehard Mega Man Classic fan!
Speaking of "Ultimate", V-Classes features unique and powerful Ultimate Attacks for every character! With every hit you land and frag you score, build your power to unleash your character of choice's devastating Ultimate. Or, if you really want to unleash unrivaled power, try Terminator mode, where picking up the Terminator item can transform you into one of several brutally powerful boss characters. But be careful; once you do, it's going to be you against the entire room full of enemies all eager to take you down and nab that power for themselves!
V-Classes is currently focused on Deathmatch gameplay, though supports every game mode available. The mod is currently in an "early access" state, and changes are being made to increase compatibility with each game mode as issues are found.

Nightmare Before Christmas 2025 - IT LIVES!
What's this?
Well, it's the long-awaited return of
NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS
NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS

After years of inactivity, this celebration of Halloween and the Holidays™ has finally returned!
Experience history with the chilling return of 14 themed maps and a whopping 64 skins!
But that's not all... This year, because of the advancements made in MM8BDM-v6b, NBC will have custom weapons for the first time!
And, of course, it wouldn't be NBC with just a simple release. That's right, I've read your mind. "Why would you put a release in Events?"
The answer's simple. Just like in the past, submissions are open to all! Weapons & Items, Skins, Maps; you name it, you can submit it!
If you haven't been around long enough to witness one of these - and I imagine that's most folk in the community nowadays - we'll have a fairly lengthy submission period that encompasses both holidays and should give you plenty of time to submit whatever you so desire.
If you're interested in submitting but don't know how to make what you want to make, venture on over to the Official MM8BDM Wiki where we've got tutorials galore for every aspect of creation you can think of! Whether that's creating a skin, creating a map, or even making a weapon or item, making things has never been more accessible so let your creativity run wild!
One thing worth mentioning is because of the sheer amount of them, most of the old skins do not currently have mugshots. As such, we're also taking any submissions we get for those for that completion factor! please make mugshots please there's so many skins oh my GOD
Submissions are OPEN from NOW until
11:59:59 EDT on January 17th!
11:59:59 EDT on January 17th!
And, of course, anyone who has something accepted into the second release will receive the
SHINY NEW Nightmare Before Christmas Contributor medal!
Download Here!
Finally, here's some submission guidelines for you to follow. Submissions are open to all and I'm not worried about creating a perfect product or anything, but these are mostly here for my sanity. I HIGHLY recommend reading these, especially if you're newer!
I'm definitely forgetting something, but it's 2 AM and I work tomorrow. I'll add it here if I remember.
Make sure to post in this thread to let me know you're working on something! I lose track of things very easily so having everything here makes it MUCH easier for me.
Have fun, everyone, and Happy Holidays!

Mega Man 8-Bit Deathmatch V6C Newsletter
Hey all you Mega Fans! We're back again with another V6C Newsletter!
We're getting back to our usual bread and butter for this newsletter and showing off a few more map changes we have in the wings! I don't have much of a preamble going on here, but truth be told, I like to ramble a little bit in my opening paragraph so any forum previews don't just say what the update is.
Do you think that's enough typing or do I need more? I think we're good to post some screenshots, but if I'm wrong this whole opening will be very funny for all the wrong reasons.

Cold Man is joining the ranks of robot master stages that have gotten touched up! I wouldn't call this map a full blown remake like some others, but it's definitely more than just some minor tweaks here and there. I'd say the basic skeleton of MMBCOL has remained intact, but it's been tightened up into a much more solid map overall. You'll definitely recognize the DNA it had before when playing on it, but I think you all will enjoy the changes.
Now, for a quick look of another map that kept some of its skeleton intact, but saw more drastic changes in other places...

Guts Man's stage has always been an interesting map. I think the courtyard and parts of the caves has always been solid, but then half the map are just thing cliffs you have to jump up without much else going on. So our solution was to keep the courtyard and bits and pieces of the original map, and expand the rest of the map into something you could actually properly fight in. You'll definitely recognize some set pieces in here, but others will be completely new. As I've said before, that's been a large part of most of V6C's map changes, where we keep the spirit of the older map alive while swapping out what wasn't working.
I've got one more map to look at today, and while nothing about the layout is changing, it is one of our Mega Man 8 maps that got a visual makeover, so take a look!

Duo's Stage has received a full visual sweep! As I said, absolutely nothing about the actual layout of this map has changed, but we figured it was one of the choices to get a fresh coat of paint. For several versions now this stage has consisted of both Duo's intermission stage and the opening beach level from Mega Man 8, so of course this just uses better tiles than before, but we also tried to include more details found in those two stages that were missing before now. I hope you enjoy it all!
Well, that's all for today's newsletter! We'll see you all next time!
